Metro Manila stays at Alert Level 2 until end of Feb

Metro Manila will remain under Alert Level 2 until the end of February due to concerns over potential super spreader events during election campaigns.

Health authorities recommend maintaining Alert Level 2 as cases are decreasing but still pose a risk, while the Philippine Medical Association advises against shifting to Alert Level 1.

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases approved keeping Metro Manila under Alert Level 2 and placed seven areas in Visayas and Mindanao under Alert Level 3.

NCR mayors agreed to extend Alert Level 2 until February 28, urging the IATF to follow their recommendation.
