Over 4,600 Filipinos repatriated due to coronavirus

Over 4,600 Filipinos have been repatriated due to the coronavirus outbreak since its start.

The majority of those brought back are seafarers from cruise ships affected by travel restrictions.

On March 31, 445 seafarers from Norwegian Cruise Line ships Dawn and Encore, 436 crew members from MV Magica and MV Favolosa, and 80 crew from the Diamond Princess in Japan were repatriated.

As of April 2, an additional 123 Filipino seafarers were brought back from Spain, while earlier that day, 454 crew members from Norwegian Dawn and Star and another 446 from Armonia, Meraviglia, Seaside, and Divina arrived in Manila.

Also on April 2, 79 seafarers from Carnival Pride, Carnival Panorama, Carnival Horizon, Carnival Breeze, and MS World Odyssey were repatriated to Clark.
