80 Filipinos from Diamond Princess cruise ship now back home

All 80 Filipino crew members infected with coronavirus aboard the MV Diamond Princess cruise ship have now returned to the Philippines.

Deputy Chief of Mission Robespierre Bolivar confirmed that all Filipinos were successfully treated and discharged from hospitals in Tokyo, with the last crew member being discharged on Tuesday, March 31.

The quarantine period for the Diamond Princess began on February 5 after a passenger tested positive for the virus.

Philippine Ambassador Jose Laurel reported two additional Filipino cases of COVID-19 in Japan, one each in Osaka and Nagoya, noting that only one infected crew member remains hospitalized.
