Project ARK offers free COVID-19 tests for returning OFWs

Project ARK, a private sector initiative, has offered to cover COVID-19 testing for returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) to minimize backlogs after the Philippine Red Cross halted services due to payment issues with PhilHealth.

Philippine Red Cross resumed services for tests charged to PhilHealth after half of over P1 billion in dues was paid earlier this week, but Chairman and Senator Richard Gordon warned of potential debt accumulation.

Project ARK's medical director Dr. Minguita Padilla announced readiness to process the specimen of returning OFWs and overseas Filipinos in their 11 laboratories with a testing capacity of 3,000 per day.
