Meralco beats Terrafirma 96-91 in PBA Commissioner's Cup

Meralco secured a narrow victory over Terrafirma in the PBA Commissioner's Cup on Friday night with a score of 96-91, improving their conference record to 3-0.

DJ Kennedy led Meralco with 32 points and six rebounds, while Jansen Rios made a crucial triple near the end of the game with nine seconds left to seal the win.

Head coach Luigi Trillo acknowledged Terrafirma's resilience but praised his team's ability to come together in the third quarter to secure the victory despite letting them back into the game late.

Chris Newsome and Raymond Almazan each scored 15 points for Meralco, while Terrafirma’s new import Brandon Edwards posted a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds.

Terrafirma remains winless in four tries, despite a strong fourth-quarter comeback that tied the game at 91-all with one minute left.
