Aaron Black returns, key in Meralco's comeback win over Phoenix

Meralco's Aaron Black returned from an ACL injury to play a significant role in Meralco's comeback victory over Phoenix, securing a 111-109 win in the PBA Commissioner's Cup on Friday.

Black played for 29 minutes and contributed with 15 points, eight rebounds, and five assists despite mental challenges during his recovery period.

Coach Luigi Trillo praised Black for stepping up due to key players' injuries, including Allein Maliksi, Chris Banchero, Brandon Bates, and rookie CJ Cansino, who were missing from the lineup.

Import Akil Mitchell also performed well with a double-double of 27 points and 13 rebounds, supporting Meralco's comeback win.

Chris Newsome contributed 23 points and six assists in the rally, helping Meralco overcome an early deficit to secure their victory.
