Barefield, King power Blackwater to 114-98 win over Meralco

Sedrick Barefield and George King scored a combined 65 points to lead the Blackwater Bossing to a 114-98 victory over Meralco Bolts in the PBA Commissioner's Cup on Thursday.

Barefield contributed a season-high 33 points, five rebounds, and nine assists, while King added 32 points and 14 rebounds, helping Blackwater secure its first win after four consecutive losses.

The Bossing took control of the game with a strong final quarter performance, outscoring Meralco by 31-19 to extend their lead.

Blackwater improved to a 1-4 record, while Meralco dropped to 3-2 without their import players and will face Converge on Christmas Day.

James Kwekuteye's layup with under a minute left sealed the win for Blackwater, securing their biggest lead of the contest.

Blackwater will next face San Miguel Beermen on Sunday at 5 p.m., aiming to build on this victory.
