Gov't targets 30K daily COVID-19 tests by May 30

The government plans to prioritize 25,000 quarantined overseas Filipinos in four mega swabbing centers set to open soon.

These centers will conduct around 30,000 tests daily by May 30, aiming to surpass testing capacities of Singapore, Israel, and South Korea.

The first center at Palacio de Maynila is expected to start operations on Wednesday with a capacity of about 1,000 tests per day.

By next week, the Philippines aims to conduct up to 31,360 daily tests as four mega swabbing facilities come online.
