Rep. S. Marcos signs 4th impeachment complaint vs VP Duterte

Rep. Sandro Marcos, son of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., signed the fourth impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte on Friday, citing her past threats to his family.

In an interview, Rep. Marcos defended his decision as his constitutional duty and emphasized that he acted independently after consulting with other lawmakers who voluntarily signed the complaint.

He dismissed allegations of inducements for signatures, noting that talk of lawmakers signing in exchange for favors is fake news and highlighted supermajority support from over 240 House members.

Rep. Marcos referred to Duterte's previous statements about exhuming his grandfather’s remains and threatening key figures in his family, expressing concern over her mental clarity and the serious nature of these allegations.

House Secretary General Reginald Velasco confirmed that 25 more lawmakers have submitted their verification forms as complainants, potentially increasing the number of signatories to at least 240, representing nearly 80 percent of the House of Representatives.
