Romualdez: Senate decides VP Duterte's impeachment timeline

House Speaker Martin Romualdez stated on Friday that it is up to the Senate to decide when to start impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte.

Romualdez reiterated his commitment to leaving the decision to the Senate's discretion during an interview with journalists in Tacloban City.

On Wednesday, a copy of the impeachment complaint signed by at least 215 members of the House of Representatives was transmitted to the Senate Secretariat before 5 p.m.

As of Thursday, 25 additional lawmakers have expressed their intent to join the fourth impeachment complaint against Duterte, bringing the total number of endorsers to more than 75 percent of the House's membership if accepted by the process.
