Marcos distributes PHP325M aid to Cagayan Valley, Pangasinan

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. distributed PHP325 million in financial assistance to areas in Cagayan Valley and announced additional aid for Pangasinan, which was affected by recent tropical cyclones on Friday.

During a ceremonial turnover in Ilagan City, Isabela, Marcos handed over PHP50 million each to the provincial governments of Quirino and Isabela, and PHP10 million to Tuguegarao City and 20 typhoon-affected municipalities in Cagayan, as well as provided PHP10,000 each to about 1,500 beneficiaries from various municipalities in Isabela.

In Pangasinan, he distributed PHP50 million in cash assistance to 5,000 farmers and fishermen affected by typhoons, emphasizing the need for intensified efforts by government agencies and local authorities to provide aid.

Marcos also instructed concerned departments like the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development and the Department of Social Welfare and Development to ensure temporary housing for affected families until full recovery is achieved.

The President reaffirmed his commitment to supporting typhoon-hit communities, acknowledging the challenges they face in recovering from infrastructure and livelihood damage.
