House launches PHP850M aid for Bicol typhoon victims

The House of Representatives launched 'Tabang Bicol, Tindog Oragon' on Thursday to provide aid worth PHP850 million to over 170,000 residents in the Bicol region affected by recent typhoons.

House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez and representatives distributed assistance across Albay, Catanduanes, Naga City, and Pili in Camarines Sur, emphasizing President Marcos's call for unity in aid delivery.

In Legazpi City alone, over 6,000 beneficiaries received cash assistance from Romualdez during the relief operation.

Romualdez and Rep. Zaldy Co discussed plans to construct water-impounding facilities in flood-prone areas to mitigate flooding and serve as irrigation systems during dry periods.

The program includes food packs from the DSWD, financial support through various government initiatives, aiming to address immediate needs and long-term recovery efforts for affected families.
