Marcos conveys PH concerns on China maritime claims

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. conveyed Filipino concerns over China's maritime claims in the West Philippine Sea during his state visit to China.

Marcos discussed the plight of Filipino fishermen who are often driven away by Chinese Coast Guard vessels and sought a compromise to ease tensions.

Chinese President Xi Jinping promised to find a solution that would allow Filipino fishermen to return to their traditional fishing grounds, stressing it is not a unilateral decision.
