Manila expands Pfizer rollout, 1500 queue for 900 doses

On Tuesday, May 18, around 1,500 people lined up early morning at a Manila hotel vaccination site for Pfizer doses, but only 900 were available.

Manila expanded its Pfizer vaccine rollout to include senior citizens and those with comorbidities, in addition to frontline health workers, leading to long queues starting as early as 2 AM.

Criticism arose over the city government's decision to send out text messages late at night about a 'first-come, first-served' basis for vaccination slots.
