Manila offers boosters to delivery workers

Manila City government offered vaccine booster shots to delivery riders and workers in Divisoria on January 6, as the city aims to contain the surge of coronavirus cases believed to be fueled by the Omicron variant.

Mayor Francisco 'Isko' Domagoso said the drive-through vaccination was designed for two-wheel workers who cannot go to malls due to time constraints.

The booster shots were provided at Bonifacio Shrine and Juan Luna Street corner Recto Avenue, with 754 individuals vaccinated during a night vaccination event on January 5-6.

Delivery riders from various parts of Luzon also availed of the free booster shots, with seven out of ten non-residents of Manila participating in the drive-thru vaccinations.
