Manila LGU announces road closures for Nora Aunor's state funeral

Manila's local government announced road closures and traffic adjustments for the state funeral of National Artist Nora Aunor, who passed away on April 16 at age 71 due to acute respiratory failure.

Closed roads include Padre Burgos Avenue from Mehan Garden to Quezon Boulevard Bridge North Bound and Natividad Lopez Street Northbound from N. Lopez/Villegas intersection heading towards Universidad de Manila.

Parking restrictions will be implemented along Taft Avenue to Mehan Garden starting at 7 a.m., affecting one-side parking.

Drivers are advised to use alternate routes such as McArthur Bridge to Sta. Cruz or Jones Bridge to Binondo area.

The state funeral will begin with arrival honors at Arroceros Forest Park at 8:30 a.m., followed by a tribute program at the Metropolitan Theater at 9:00 a.m., and conclude with burial rites at Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City at noon.

Nora Aunor, known as 'Superstar,' was named National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts in 2022 after a prolific career spanning over 170 films.
