Malacañang dismisses 'It's Showtime' contestant's Comelec comment as isolated

Malacañang responded to a viral comment made by 'It's Showtime' contestant Heart Aquino, who admitted to not knowing about the Commission on Elections (Comelec) during an interview.

Comelec chairman George Garcia invited Aquino for a tour of Comelec headquarters, suggesting that her lack of knowledge might reflect broader youth unawareness.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is not concerned, stating that the government is taking steps to improve education, including allocating P700 million for basic child service facilities in low-income LGUs.

Castro emphasized that while the government continues its efforts, Filipino youth should also take responsibility and educate themselves about national issues.

The press officer noted that a single individual's lack of knowledge does not necessarily reflect the overall failure of the education system.
