Maan Teodoro proclaimed Marikina mayor, Marcy wins Rep seat but faces suspension

Marikina 1st District Representative Maan Teodoro has been officially proclaimed as the next mayor of Marikina City with over 56 percent of the votes, defeating Stella Quimbo who received more than 43 percent.

Former Marikina Mayor Del De Guzman remains ahead in the vice mayoral race.

Marcy Teodoro, Maan's husband and suspended Marikina City Mayor, won his seat in the House of Representatives but faces a preventive suspension over alleged misuse of funds pending the Commission on Elections' en banc decision.

The proclamation of Marcy Teodoro as the 1st district representative has been temporarily halted by the Comelec due to an unresolved petition questioning his residency.

Both Maan and her husband have weathered multiple controversies and targeted disinformation campaigns leading up to election day.
