LRT-2 shortens hours from April 17 to end of month

Starting Saturday, April 17 until the end of April, LRT-2 will shorten its operating hours from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. due to an increase in COVID-19 cases among its personnel.

Out of 1,944 workers, 273 have tested positive for the virus, leaving only 56% of ticket management and sales collection staff, about 73% of train drivers, and 68% of station personnel available.

LRTA Administrator Reynaldo Berroya said the shortened hours aim to prevent further spread of the virus and avoid potential paralysis of operations.
