DOTr moves LRT2 East Extension opening to June 23

The opening of the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT2) East Extension, originally scheduled for April 26, has been postponed to June 23 due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation.

Instead of a formal inauguration, an operational trial run will be conducted on June 23.

The delay was made to protect the health and safety of rail workers and the riding public, as foreign rail experts needed for final stages could not enter the country due to travel restrictions.
