PAGASA: LPAs, southwest monsoon bring rains over Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao

PAGASA forecasts scattered rains and thunderstorms over parts of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao due to two low-pressure areas (LPA) and the southwest monsoon.

The LPA located near Cagayan may develop into a tropical depression in 36 hours and bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, and Mindanao.

PAGASA warns residents of potential flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.

The southwest monsoon will affect Metro Manila, central Luzon, parts of the Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, northern Mindanao, and Caraga with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

Isolated rain showers are expected in other areas due to localized thunderstorms.
