LPA outside PAR dissipates; Amihan surge until New Year

A low pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has dissipated as of Thursday, December 23.

PAGASA reports no other weather disturbances around PAR and forecasts an Amihan surge from Christmas Day until New Year's Day.

Previously, there was a higher chance of the LPA developing into a tropical cyclone by Sunday or Monday, but it did not materialize.

The next weather event expected is a shear line bringing rainy weather to some parts of eastern Philippines next week.
