ITCZ brings rains over parts of Mindanao

PAGASA forecasts scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over parts of Mindanao due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), which may cause flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains.

Caraga, Davao Region, South Cotabato, Sarangani, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi are specifically mentioned as areas that will experience these weather conditions.

The rest of the country will have isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms with light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas, except for extreme northern Luzon which will have strong winds and rough seas.

A low-pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility is expected to enter PAR on December 26 or 27 and may develop into a tropical depression, posing potential risks for Mindanao by December 29 or 30.
