Vicky intensifies into tropical storm outside PAR

Tropical Storm Vicky (international name: Krovanh) exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility but continues to affect parts of the country.

Signal No. 1 was hoisted over Kalayaan Islands, Palawan on Sunday morning due to strong winds and heavy rains.

Vicky intensified into a tropical storm with maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near the center and gusts up to 80 km/h.

Signal No. 2 was raised in Kalayaan Islands as Vicky's impact increased, bringing gale-force winds that could cause significant damage.

Though Vicky left PAR, it previously caused flooding in parts of Visayas and Mindanao, particularly in Agusan del Sur where residents were evacuated due to waist-deep floodwaters.
