Tropical depression forms west of PAR, habagat strengthens

A low pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has developed into a tropical depression, according to Pagasa.

The tropical depression is located 1,100 kilometers west of Central Luzon with maximum sustained winds at 45 kilometers per hour and gustiness up to 55 kph, moving west-northwest at 25 kph.

Meanwhile, an LPA has formed within the PAR east of Mindanao, estimated at 485 kilometers east of Davao City.

Pagasa stated that the effects of the southwest monsoon, or habagat, have been strengthened by this tropical depression and will continue to prevail over western portions of Luzon, Palawan, and Mindoro.

No gale warnings have been raised for any seaboards in the country as of now.
