Tropical Storm Carina near Casiguran, enhancing habagat

Tropical Depression Butchoy has exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) while Tropical Depression Carina has intensified into a tropical storm.

As of Sunday, Carina is situated 490 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora, with peak winds at 75 kph near the center and gusts up to 90 kph as it moves west-northwestward at 10 kph.

Carina is forecast to exit PAR by Thursday but will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon (habagat), bringing rains over the next three days, particularly in western Luzon including Antique, Occidental Mindoro, Zambales, Bataan, Pangasinan, La Union, and Northern Palawan.

Metro Manila, Mindanao, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, the rest of Visayas, and the rest of Mimaropa will experience fair weather or partly cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

The Visayas, Mindanao, and western sections of Luzon will have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas, while the rest of Luzon will have light to moderate winds and slightly rough coastal waters.
