Butchoy and Carina move outside PAR, enhancing Southwest Monsoon

Tropical Depressions Butchoy and Carina are expected to have minimal impact on the Philippines this Saturday as they move outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and enhance the Southwest Monsoon, bringing cloudy skies with rain over several areas.

Carina is forecasted to intensify into a tropical storm by Sunday, while Butchoy will exit PAR by early Sunday morning, located 910 km west of Central Luzon.

The Southwest Monsoon, influenced by both depressions, will bring moderate to heavy rains and gusty conditions over western Luzon and Kalayaan Islands for the next three days.

Antique, Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Zambales, Bataan, Mimaropa in Luzon, as well as parts of Visayas and Mindanao can expect cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, potentially leading to flash floods or landslides due to moderate rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, according to Pagasa.
