LPA develops into Tropical Depression Maring

A low pressure area that entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Thursday, October 7, developed into Tropical Depression Maring by 2 pm.

As of Thursday afternoon, Maring was located 505 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes and moving south-southeast at 15 km/h.

PAGASA forecasts that by Sunday, October 10, Maring could move towards extreme Northern Luzon or pass close to the Babuyan Islands on Monday, October 11.

Maring is expected to intensify into a tropical storm before hitting land.
