Lingayen town in Pangasinan is considering implementing localized lockdowns due to rising COVID-19 cases.

Mayor Leopoldo Bataoil cited 29 active cases and noted an increase in local transmission, as opposed to previous cases among locally stranded individuals.

Bataoil urged residents to adhere strictly to health protocols such as wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and avoiding mass gatherings.

The town recorded four new confirmed cases on October 21 with five recoveries, bringing the total number of cases to 80 since the start of the pandemic.
