C. Visayas sees drop in active cases, 89% recoveries

Central Visayas has seen a significant drop in active COVID-19 cases, with Mandaue City recording only 94 active cases on October 15.

Cebu City, once called a 'second epicenter' of the outbreak, has also reported a decline in cases and closed another isolation facility due to underuse.

On Wednesday, October 14, Central Visayas recorded 120 new recoveries in Cebu City, bringing down active cases to just 2.3% of total cases since February.

The DOH-7 reported that as of October 13, 89% of COVID-19 patients in Central Visayas have recovered, with the region recording a descending care utilization rate since it was placed under MGCQ last September.
