ITCZ brings rain, thunderstorms, flash flood risk

The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) continues to bring rainy skies across the Philippines, with localized thunderstorms affecting parts of Mindanao and scattered rain showers in other regions.

Southern Mindanao, including Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, Basilan, Tawi-Tawi, and Sulu, may experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ's influence, potentially leading to flash floods or landslides.

The rest of Luzon and Visayas will have partly cloudy to overcast skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to easterly winds, while Eastern Visayas and Panay Island remain more prone to thunderstorms.

PAGASA warns that flash floods and landslides could occur in several areas as a result of these weather conditions.

Light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters are expected across different parts of the Philippines.
