Philippines faces hot weather, heat risks

The Philippines will experience fair but humid weather on Friday, with high temperatures forecast in several regions.

Temperatures could reach up to 38°C in Tuguegarao, 37°C in Metro Manila, and 35°C in Zamboanga and Davao.

Heat indices ranging from 42°C to 48°C are expected in various areas, with extreme levels of heat posing risks for heat cramps and exhaustion.

Localized thunderstorms and easterlies will cause isolated rain showers across the archipelago, particularly in the afternoon or evening.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will continue to prevail throughout the country.

PAGASA has issued a weather report indicating that Metro Manila and other parts of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

At least 40 areas are forecast to experience high-level heat index ranging from 42°C to 48°C, urging the public to limit their afternoon outdoor activities or take shelter to protect themselves from extreme heat conditions.
