ITCZ, easterlies bring rain, thunderstorms across PH

Two weather systems are expected to bring cloudy skies and rainfall across the Philippines through Sunday, April 27.

The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will affect southern Mindanao with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Surigao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, Sarangani, Sultan Kudarat, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi, while the rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers.

The easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Eastern Samar, Leyte, and Southern Leyte, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the rest of the country.

PAGASA issued warnings for potential flash floods or landslides in affected areas due to moderate to heavy rainfall.

Light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters may be felt across the country, and residents are advised to exercise caution during severe weather conditions.

Temperatures will range from a minimum of 23°C to a maximum of 35°C over the next 24-hour period.
