3 weather systems may bring rains, thunderstorms, and scorching heat to parts of PH

Three weather systems may bring cloudy skies and scattered rains to parts of the Philippines on Saturday, May 3.

A Low Pressure Area (LPA), located 135 km east of Surigao City, will continue bringing scattered rains and thunderstorms over Visayas, Mindanao, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Quezon Province, and Batangas.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to easterlies.

PAGASA warned residents in affected regions about possible flash floods or landslides from moderate to heavy rains, advising caution and preparedness.

Scorching temperatures are forecasted across 19 areas with heat index values ranging from 42°C to 44°C; the highest is expected at 44°C in Baler, Aurora, Infanta, Quezon, Iba, Zambales, and Sangley Point, Cavite.
