Roque: Vaccine deployment delayed for quality checks

The deployment of COVID-19 vaccines has been delayed due to quality control checks, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said on Wednesday.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno criticized the national government for the slow delivery of vaccines to his city, noting that out of 2.5 million Sinovac doses delivered since April 22, Manila received only 8,400 doses.

Moreno also pointed out that Manila has yet to receive its allocation from the recent shipments of over two million AstraZeneca and nearly 193,000 Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines.
