Iloilo, Manila mayors sign off on advance payments for coronavirus vaccines

Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas signed a voucher for an advance payment of PHP28 million to purchase 600,000 doses of coronavirus vaccines.

This move is expected to secure vaccines by July and cover about 60 percent of the city's eligible population.

Manila Mayor Francisco 'Isko Moreno' Domagoso also signed off on a PHP38.4 million advance payment for 800,000 doses of AstraZeneca’s vaccine, equivalent to a 20% down payment.

Domagoso emphasized the importance of mass vaccination in Manila's economic recovery and noted that over 88,000 people have registered for vaccines through the city government website.
