Imee Marcos withdraws from admin senatorial slate

Senator Imee Marcos announced Saturday that she will not join the Eleksyon 2025 senatorial slate of the administration despite being included by her brother, President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' R. Marcos Jr.

Marcos emphasized in a social media video post and statement released two days after the administration-backed Alyansa senatorial slate was launched that she chose to stand alone to avoid putting her brother in a difficult position and to remain loyal to every Filipino rather than any political group, honoring her father, the late President Ferdinand Marcos Sr.

On Sunday, President Bongbong expressed understanding for his sister's decision and assured her of support despite her withdrawal from the administration slate.

Senator Imee confirmed that she is withdrawing from the administration slate in an attempt to reunite the broken 'UniTeam' and stated her desire to be independent from political alliances during the campaign period.

While she has yet to determine whether she will resign from the Nacionalista Party, Senator Imee vowed to continue serving Filipinos without favor, prioritizing their welfare through laws passed during her term.
