Imee Marcos files COC for senatorial bid

On Wednesday, Senator Imee Marcos filed her certificate of candidacy for her reelection bid next year, accompanied by her mother, former First Lady Imelda, and sons Borgy and Michael Manotoc.

Before proceeding to the filing venue at The Manila Hotel Tent City in Manila, Marcos and her family attended a Mass at Our Lady of Remedies Parish (Malate Church) where her mother was seen praying for her success early in the morning.

Marcos clarified that she will run under the Nacionalista Party but not as part of the administration-backed alliance, emphasizing her desire to remain independent and protect President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. from critics.

She expressed gratitude towards her brother's continued support despite their political differences and highlighted her mother’s excitement for her reelection bid.

If reelected, Marcos plans to prioritize legislation benefiting senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
