Ilocos Norte placed under MECQ from Sept. 8 to 30

Ilocos Norte will be under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) from September 8 to 30.

Initially, Ilocos Norte was set to be under GCQ with heightened restrictions but the classification has been upgraded due to rising COVID-19 cases.

Other areas placed under MECQ for September include Apayao, Bataan, Bulacan, Cavite, Rizal, Laguna, Lucena City, Iloilo province and cities, and Cagayan de Oro city.

Details about the pilot granular lockdown in Metro Manila are still being finalized.
