Metro Manila extends MECQ until Sept. 15

Metro Manila will remain under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) until Sept. 15, as the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases decided against implementing a general community quarantine with alert levels system due to lack of readiness.

Indoor and al-fresco dine-in services, personal care services including beauty salons and nail spas will remain prohibited during this period.

The Employers Confederation of the Philippines sees the shift to granular lockdowns as a positive step forward for the economy.
