IBP condemns landmine use in Masbate blast

The Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) condemned the use of landmines following the deaths of Far Eastern University football player Keith Absalon and his cousin Nolven in Masbate City.

Police identified the perpetrators as members of the New People’s Army (NPA), who detonated an anti-personnel mine, causing injuries to Nolven's 16-year-old son as well.

The IBP cited the 1997 Ottawa Treaty, which bans the use, manufacture, and sale of anti-personnel landmines, urging full accountability for those involved.
