Robredo condemns NPA landmine blast in Masbate

Vice President Leni Robredo condemned the landmine explosion in Masbate that killed cousins Kieth Absalon, a football player from FEU, and Neolven Absalon, a labor leader.

Robredo said no ideology can justify the use of land mines, which she called murder.

The NPA had taken responsibility for the attack, calling it a mistake by its unit in Masbate province.

Robredo emphasized that landmines have no place in a civilized society and referred to the Ottawa Treaty, which prohibits their use.
