Batangas solons propose P30-B supplemental budget for Taal rehab

Batangas lawmakers filed House Bill No. 5998 on Wednesday, proposing PHP30 billion as a supplemental budget for Taal volcano eruption relief and rehabilitation.

The bill aims to aid victims through various programs including resettlement centers, livelihood opportunities, and infrastructure reconstruction until December 2022.

House Resolution No. 655 was adopted urging immediate release of funds from the Calamity Fund and other national government appropriations for affected individuals.

House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez stated the House is willing to increase the supplemental budget to PHP50 billion if necessary.
