House to craft rehab plan for Taal-hit areas

Albay Rep. Joey Salceda has called for Congress to prepare supplemental appropriations of PHP60 to 100 billion for the relief and rehabilitation efforts in areas affected by the Taal Volcano eruption.

Salceda proposed a Taal Eruption Recovery Rehabilitation and Adaptation (TERRA) Plan, which would involve creating a reconstruction commission to implement the rehabilitation efforts.

Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano has directed the House Committee on Disaster Management to develop a comprehensive rehabilitation plan for severely affected areas in Batangas, Cavite, and Laguna.
