The newly infected employee works in the Bills and Index Service and was hospitalized due to pneumonia and persistent hiccups but is now stable.

Authorities are tracing individuals who may have been exposed to the patient.

On Friday, the House reported its 50th case, involving a staffer who had no close contact with other confirmed cases within Congress.
