167 DSWD personnel test positive for Covid-19

As of Tuesday, Aug 18, 2020, 167 DSWD personnel across central and regional offices have tested positive for Covid-19, with 57 having recovered.

DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista stated that over 1,500 other employees are in self-quarantine after being exposed to individuals who tested positive.

In contrast, Cezario Joel Espejo, DSWD-Region 12 director, clarified on Monday that none of the nearly 1,000 workers in Region 12 have contracted the virus and assured strict adherence to health protocols.

Espejo emphasized that the personnel reported by the central office who tested positive were from other regions.
