Hollis-Jefferson scores 45 points as TNT beats NLEX 107-102

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson led TNT to a 107-102 victory over NLEX in the first game of their quarterfinals series in the 10th season of the PBA Governors' Cup on Wednesday, overcoming an early 13-point deficit and injuries.

Hollis-Jefferson scored 45 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, dished seven assists, and made three steals to secure the win for TNT, who were also boosted by Calvin Oftana's eight crucial fourth-quarter points.

TNT focused their defense on limiting NLEX's key players DeQuan Jones and Robert Bolick, which helped them regain control of the game in the second half, particularly in the third quarter where Hollis-Jefferson contributed 17 points.

Despite trailing by 13 at halftime, TNT rallied with clutch free throws from Hollis-Jefferson and a late surge from Oftana to secure the victory as NLEX's Jones finished with 38 points.

Hollis-Jefferson emphasized his reliance on willpower to overcome a sluggish start and highlighted the importance of rest provided by coach Chot Reyes in their final elimination-round game, which allowed him to play the entire second half.
