DOJ forms task force to probe Randy Echanis death

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra has ordered an investigation into the reported killing of Randy Echanis, a National Democratic Front consultant.

Guevarra directed the AO 35 task force on extrajudicial killings to form a special team to investigate the incident, but investigators will wait for confirmation from Echanis' family that the victim was indeed him.

AO 35 covers summary killings of persons due to their advocacies such as labor and peasant leaders, not common crimes involving ordinary individuals.
