Palace: No change in quarantine for vaccinated foreigners

The Philippine government is unlikely to change its COVID-19 quarantine protocols for returning Filipinos vaccinated abroad due to a lack of international agreement on verifying vaccination cards.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire stated that the DOH is still working on a mechanism to verify if travelers entering the Philippines were vaccinated outside the country.

Vergeire also mentioned that more relaxed requirements will eventually cover returning Filipinos and inbound foreign tourists who received their vaccinations abroad, but this will be implemented gradually due to ongoing concerns about rising cases in the country.
