Philippines expands A4 category for COVID-19 vaccines

Philippine officials announced that around 30 million essential workers, including those who work from home and informal sector employees, will be vaccinated starting next month.

Health Undersecretary Leopoldo Vega stated that adults aged 40 and above in the A4 category will be prioritized for vaccination.

The inter-agency taskforce simplified the list of workers in the fourth priority group into three subgroups: private workers required to physically report to work, government employees, and informal sector workers who may need to work outside their residences.

Overseas Filipino workers due for deployment within four months and immediate family members of health workers have been elevated to top priority in the vaccination program.
